Against A-20[]

History[]

In 1937, a team of Soviet engineers led by Mikhail Koshkin began work on a tank to replace the T-26 and BT series tanks. The new tank, designated A-20 for its 20 mm thick frontal armor, featured a 45 mm gun and was powered by a Kharkiv model V-2-34 engine which drove a 8×6-wheel convertible drive suspension with removable tracks.

After a series of undeclared wars with Japan, it was realized that the 20 mm riveted armor of the A-20 would not be adequate against newer tanks and anti-tank weapons. Therefore, Joseph Stalin ordered a more heavily armored prototype, the A-32. This prototype notably featured 32 mm frontal armor and a 76.2 mm L-10 gun. A further improved prototype (also designated A-32) was built with 45 mm frontal armor and a 76.2 mm L-11 gun. This final prototype was ordered into production as the T-34, which went on to become the most produced tank in WWII and the second most produced tank of all time.

Trivia[]

In Update 5.9, the coding for the A-20's HE penetration was messed up, and the HE penetration became the same as the HEAT penetration. The HE penetration was at 95mm, which meant the tank could even penetrate the KV-1 frontally, and penetrate some Tier VI tanks with HE. Due to Update 5.5's removal of all low tier Derp Guns, nothing could counter the A-20 madness, and Tier IV was filled with veterans in A-20s looking to have fun. Update 6.0 reverted the 95mm of penetration to 39mm of penetration.
